19th day of Asum in the year 1032 of the Northern Calendar. Noon.

You, arround the scattered remains of the Well of Souls.
Gorileth, his blade on Baron Zvenzen's throat.
The last stand has finally come.

After a few seconds of silence, Tolleen bursts out in laughter. "Are you serious? We've defeated...
[insert Des' long list of opponents here Smile]
...and you think you lightweights with your pointy sticks are actually a threat to us?", Tolleen says, smiling.

"Our Wizard here could transform you into a small crater and a black scorch mark before you could pee yourselves. My Afridhi friend here will gut and skin you while you still live and beg him for the swift release of death. I'll wear your blood as war paint on my face and the bearmen...well...the bearmen will probably just eat you...slowly...after all, it was a long hike here and I'm sure they're very hungry..."

"Of course, if you want to be the ones to disgrace your family names by being known as the ones stupid enough to challenge The Company Of The Maiden AFTER they were strong enough to bring down...let's see..." Tolleen starts pointing around in the direction of the fallen enemies they've just faced. "...an undead dragon, Baron Ungulian, the reanimated Ungulian, some of the stone golems...the Ran of Ah Fooh...oh, the Maiden..."

"I'll tell you what. Lower your bows. Get your friggin' hands off the baron. Pick up your crap. Get the hell out of Starmorgan. Tell your families...well...I don't care what you tell your clans to save face. Just know that if you don't leave now, you will be an eternal disgrace to your families, your clans, and the entire Westryn race, as you become known as just another group of nameless fools who perished before The Company Of The Maiden. If you really have the slightest spark of the intelligence your Cumasti cousins claim your race has, demonstrate it now and just...walk...away..."

"There is no shame in walking away from a fight you...

...WILL...

...NOT...

...WIN..."

*Edit*
Erdath remains quiet so he does not loose his spell and waits to see what outcome Tolleen's words have on Gorileth and his men. At the slightest twitch of Gorileth's hand to harm Sven though, he will finish the last word of his magic missile spell and send one at each of the elves on either side of Baron Svenson. He will then roll forward to avoid any arrows coming his way, reaching for his wand to lash out at another of the foolish westryn elves.

Hrrd catches on to what Tolleen is doing. There is a possibility that it could have several different, but beneficial outcomes. If not, we're all prepared to fight it out anyway. If we get the slightest break though, he will break a few heads in.

This is a very delicate thing. Gorileth may just snap and kill Sven's grandsire. That is not a desired outcome. However, it might be worth the risk. This is the kind of bluff that would make legends of the company and churlish fools of these elves. This is the kind of thing that Zvenzen would really appreciate.

He turns to her a bit and says, "Oh, I don't know. That slavery and eternal damnation idea is very tempting." He'll even drop his great club to rest on the ground. "However, I am a bit hungry ... and these elves look nice and soft."

Tolleen is prepared to hand her masterwork javelin (+1 to hit, 1d6 damage) off to Karl should a fight break out.

I don't know what Hrrd's Intimidate is, but Tolleen's is +2 (probably lower than Hrrd's), so whoever has the lower one should be the one doing the Aid Another.

Thinking more on the subject, there is absolutely no way that Gorileth is going to give up without a fight. He is compelled to finish this, one way or the other. If he wins, then he gets what he wants. If he loses, he doesn't have to face his dark mistress.

What we need is a good distraction. Something nobody would expect.

Bravous? Are you done worrying that dragon yet? You've done a great job and will be rewarded. One more thing to do before we are done here. I need you to jump on the head of the ugly one in charge. The one with the big sticker. Can you do that? Go for the eyes.

Harwan eyes the newcomers suspiciously, keeping Grief raised, awaiting their respose to Tolleens challenge.

Sven thinks Maroon, grandfather is in trouble. Teleport us right up behind Gorelith. When he gets there, Sven will put his sword in Gorelith's back, with no quams about running him through if he hurts the Baron, saying quietly "Your dead if you hurt my grandfather..."

As soon as Erdath sees Sven disappear he will finish the last phrase of his spell and continue his actions as stated in my earlier post.

Dirken gives his most manical laugh and slowly licks his stump of a hand all the while smiling and staring at any who would look at him. In his other hand is still the magical green ball with the pin laying some 10 yards behind him....

in his worst dark raspy crazy voice he says.. "OH BOY this is gonna be fun!!!"[/b]

Karl eyes his surroundings as well as the elves. He could give up. But then he was never one to fold without a fight. Going more for horror and distraction than harming the elves, he tossed a few of the broken limbs of the
golems at the elves nearest to him. He'd seen what Dirken planned to do and figured this might buy him enough time to get the grenade off.

One last time, the Company of the Maiden prepares for battle...

Sheridan wrote:

Gorileth, from over at the balcony, just raises an eyebrow.

"For me, one outcome is as pleasant as the other, human slut.
- Soldiers, go kill them a...

Gorileth's eyes suddenly widen and his face looses all color.

You all can see Sven has suddenly changed place, and stands towering behind the smaller Westryn.
You cannot see Maroon, but see the greenish glow reflect on the drangonscale armor...

Finally, Gorileth manages to turn his head at least a few inches.

"My men and I won't leave without the fragments of the Well,
know that, halfbreed. You give them to us, noone has to die... "

These warriors will be no match for you, and Hrrd knows it as soon as he looks hin their faces and bleaks his teeth.

All warriors are fairly young, as far as one can tell for elves,
and most of them have a hard time not to tremble as they stand next to the giant bearman...

Bravous gives a signal of support, from way under the pile of bones that remain from Black Wing.

I am in, commander-in-chief, but this might well take a while!

Meanwhile, one of Erdath's magic missiles takes out one the surrounding warriors,
but, stripped of their leader and obviously confused about whether to fight you or not,
the other Westryn do nothing but ot slowly back away...

Erdath can see the fear in the Elves' eyes...

Just a bit more and they would outright panic, he is sure...

wyzman wrote:

Erdath will be sure his observation was right, when two of the Elves
almost begin to cry aloud as they hear the explosion of Dirken's grenade...

Meanwhile, to the contrary to the Westryn in the foreroom,
of which one half is already dead or badly injured now,
Karl has expected the impact of the explosion and is now happy to shy the survivors away
with a stone golem's leg in his hands, swinging it like a huge club...

Given that Westryn turn to stone after they die, this has adds additional horror
top the grotesque scene...

Above at the balcony, Gorileth frowns.

This is clearly not working out as planned.

"STOP! Stop it now! Whatever you do,
I'll concentrate to kill Zvenzen, and if it is with my last breath!
Lay down your weapons, mortal creatures, or I'll take one more of your heroes
to the grave!"

In the meantime, The Great Svenny turns his head and gives his grandson a
meaningful look...

Erdath begins casting once again. "Ignoramus moronicus stupido" (Touch of Idiocy) He runs a few steps towards the balcony and jumps into the air like he plans on reaching the balcony with a simple jump, but then he calls upon his cloak and turns into a falcon. He streaks towards Gorileth and extends his talons scratching him and releasing the spell into him and veers away landing a few feet away and transforming back into his regular self.

Sven's heart turns cold at Gorelith's words. He will thrust Maroon into Gorelith's back just below the rib cage, aiming upwards for the heart, looking for an instant kill, so Gorelith can't hurt his grandfather, saying "You had your chance to save yourself..."

These other warriors are understandably afraid, but still unblenching. There must be a reason that they have not run before now. He is pretty sure that others have already and these are the ones too fearful to follow. Not a good quality in a fighting force. Too bad that this is not the family firepit where we may discuss our grievances and differences and hammer out a resolution.

Hrrd has always been the soft-spoken one of his family, being the smallest. He enjoyed the silence and took quite naturally to the woods. However, he knows how to scare away a wolf pack. He will roar his mighty roar and see how many are still standing when he is done.
